When do we collect information?
We collect information from you when you register on our site, place an order, subscribe to a newsletter or enter information on our site.
How do we use your information?
We may use the information we collect from you when you register, make a purchase, sign up for our newsletter, respond to a survey or marketing communication, surf the website, or use certain other site features in the following ways:
- To quickly process your transactions.
- To send emails regarding your order.
- To follow up with your order after correspondence (email)
- To send you email newsletters if you choose to sign up for them
- To improve the performance of our website and provide better user experience
Who on our team has access?
Members of our team have access to the information you provide us. For example, both Administrators and Shop Managers can access:
- Order information like what was purchased, when it was purchased and where it should be sent, and
- Customer information like your name, email address, and billing and shipping information.
Our team members have access to this information to help fulfill orders, process refunds and support you.
While you visit our site, we’ll track
- Products you’ve viewed: we’ll use this to, for example, show you products you’ve recently viewed
- Location, IP address and browser type: we’ll use this for purposes like estimating taxes and shipping
- Shipping address: we’ll ask you to enter this so we can, for instance, estimate shipping before you place an order, and send you the order.
When you purchase from us, we’ll ask you to provide information including your name, billing address, shipping address, email address, phone number, credit card/payment details and optional account information like username and password. We’ll use this information for purposes, such as, to:
- Send you information about your account and order
- Respond to your requests, including refunds and complaints
- Process payments and prevent fraud
- Set up your account for our store
- Comply with any legal obligations we have, such as calculating taxes
- Improve our store offerings
- Send you marketing messages, if you choose to receive them
If you create an account, we will store your name, address, email and phone number, which will be used to populate the checkout for future orders.
We generally store information about you for as long as we need the information for the purposes for which we collect and use it, and we are not legally required to continue to keep it. For example, we will store order information for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes. This includes your name, email address and billing and shipping addresses.
We will also store comments or reviews, if you choose to leave them.
When you leave reviews on the site we collect the data shown in the review form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.
Your review will be posted under the name you have in your email address that you have signed up with on Teacup Goblins (for example: email@example.com in which case only the name part is displayed). Your full email address is not publicly displayed.
If you use contact forms to contact us, we collect the data shown in the forms, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection. We only use the information you provide to reply to your inquiry via email.
If you leave reviews or comments on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another review or comment. These cookies will last for one year.
If you have an account and you log in to this site, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.
When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.
If you edit or publish an article, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.
We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments, some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information.
Embedded content from other websites
This site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.
We collect information about how visitors use and navigate our site. The information we collect and store can be info about your operating system, browser or the type of device you use; how you use our website (which links you click, where you were referred from). We use this information to improve our website and provide better user experience.
We do not share this data with third parties. You can also opt out of being tracked.
We will only store and use your email address to process your order and to send you relevant updates about your order (such as order confirmation etc).
Optionally, you can sign up for our email newsletter (we call it Goblin News). This is completely optional and you can unsubscribe from it any time (unsubscribe link is in the footer of every newsletter email). Goblin News is for announcing new products and updates about our website.
Who we share your data with
We use Mailchimp to send newsletters so if you choose to sign up for it, we share your email address with them.
How long we retain your data
If you leave a review, the review and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up reviews automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.
For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.
What rights you have over your data
If you have an account on this site, or have left reviews, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

How we protect your data
An external PCI compliant payment gateway processes all credit card and payment transactions. We do not store your credit card information on our website.
Your personal information is contained behind secured networks and is only accessible by a limited number of individuals who have special access rights to such systems, and are required to keep the information confidential. In addition, all sensitive/credit information you supply is encrypted via Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology.
We implement a variety of security measures when a user places an order enters, submits, or accesses their information to maintain the safety of your personal information.
You also have the power to keep your data secure. When you register on our website, we strongly recommend you use a secure password. A secure password should be at least 8 characters long, includes lower and upper case characters, and numbers and you shouldn’t use this password on any other website. Never share your password with anyone else.
Our website is not targeted at children and you have to be at least 16 years old to register and use it. Furthermore, you also need to comply with the terms of services of the payment services which you intend to use. Typically payment services require you to be at least 18 to use their services, so be sure to read and comply with their terms. We do not knowingly collect any data from minors or provide services to them.
What data breach procedures we have in place
After we have become aware of a data breach, all users impacted by a breach will be notified about it by email within 72 hours. Since we communicate by email, please ensure your email address is up to date.
You will be notified about the number of users affected by the breach and the nature of the breach. We will let you know which steps we take to minimize harm and protect your data.
What third parties we receive data from
To complete transactions in our store, we use PayPal to process your payments. We also use Google Analytics and Mailchimp as discussed above.
What automated decision making and/or profiling we do with user data
We do not use automated decision making or profiling of user data.
